Mr. Ware has been teaching at Chassell Township School since 1997. Before all this, he attended N.M.U. for seven years, from 1990-1996 and earned a Bachelors Degree in English and Psychology. “Looking back, it seems like I majored in just about everything at one point or another.”
His favorite part of teaching is interacting with his students. He thinks teachers are like onions. Inside every teacher is their 7th grade self, their 10th grade self, and so on and so forth. “To me, teaching is the best way to keep in touch with those parts of myself. I try to create a situation in which the student discovers their own answers. I don’t think anyone can just sit there and be taught. I try to guide students to their own answers. Learning is a journey.”
Mr. Ware grew up in Flint, Michigan and, as a result of this, he likes the Upper Peninsula a great deal. He recently remarried, so the biggest part of his life is doing his part in raising four children. “I like the experience of fatherhood a great deal.”
Mr. Ware enjoys spending time in the woods or at camp with the children. “I like having everyone in the same canoe or around the same fire pit.”
“When I do get time alone, I enjoy sitting in the woods quietly, hunting or reading. On rare occasion, I do all three at the same time.”
